"Enhancing communication between the IRBs at MSU and Researchers"

2007 IRB SEMINARS

I am excited to announce that the IRB Seminar Series will resume on Tuesday, February 13, 2007! Please note that a session will not be held in January 2007. The next session, titled "How Sensitivity and Identification of Research Data Influences IRB Review," will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 from 12:00 P.M. – 1:15 P.M. in C307 Wells HallPlease note the new location, C307 Wells Hall, for the 2007 Spring Semester. The session will include a presentation on how anonymity, confidentiality, and de-identification of research data relate to the sensitivity of the research and how this affects IRB review. Terminology will be explained and examples will be provided.  Attendees will learn innovative ideas on how to de-identify data and how to identify and prospectively address potential IRB concerns when using sensitive questions. There is no registration, and the session is open to all interested individuals. Light refreshments will be provided.  Please feel free to bring your lunch.

Thanks for your help and support in the protection of human subjects,

Peter
