KEYNOTE SPEAKER
We are pleased to announce that Bernard Schwetz,  DVM, PhD, Director of the federal Office for Human Research Protections, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will be the conference keynote speaker.
 
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Anyone involved in human subject research, including faculty, students, staff, IRB members, and IRB staff.
 
REGISTRATION
Registration will open in the beginning of September 2006.
 
SESSIONS INCLUDE

The agenda for the 2006 Fall IRB Educational Conference includes a plenary morning session and afternoon breakout sessions.  During the morning plenary session, keynote speaker Bernard Schwetz, DVM, PhD, Director of the federal Office for Human Research Protections, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will give his presentation. In the afternoon, participants will have a choice of breakout sessions to attend.  The sessions will include “IRB Basics 1” and “IRB Basics 2” designed especially for new IRB members. Other tentative sessions include electronic data storage and security, research and internet privacy, and using the internet to collect data. Finalized breakout session descriptions will be posted to the human research web site, www.humanresearch.msu.edu, shortly, along with the conference agenda.
